SAGE requires the author, as the rights holder, to sign a journal contributor publication agreement for all articles we publish. The SAGE Journal Contributor Publishing Agreement is a license agreement under which the author retains the copyright in the work, but grants SAGE the unique and exclusive right and license to publish for the entire legal term of the copyright. Exceptions may exist if the transfer of copyright is required or preferred by an owner other than SAGE. In this case, the copyright in the work is transferred from the author to the company. 13.
